Fresno Music Teacher Pleads Guilty To Child Porn

Posted: 4:24 pm PST January 12, 2009Updated: 8:38 pm PST January 12, 2009

A 58-year-old Fresno music teacher has pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges and faces a likely prison term of 6 1/2 years.

Terry Zane was taken into custody after he entered his plea Monday. His attorney, David Mugridge, says it was the best possible outcome for his client. Zane initially faced state charges of 100 counts of possessing child pornography.

Fresno police began investigating Zane last July when he took his desktop computer to a local repair shop. The shop owner called police to tell them he found child pornography pictures on the hard drive.

Police say an examination of the computer yielded more than 1,000 pictures of naked children.
