SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Sonoma County road workers found the skeletal remains of a man west of Lake Sonoma Tuesday afternoon, county coroner's Sgt. Mitch Mana said Wednesday. The bones were found around 2 p.m. at Stewarts Point and Skaggs Springs Road in northern Sonoma County, Mana said. The coroner's office will use dental records to try to identify the man and if that fails DNA samples will be used, Mana said. The place where the bones were found is partially obscured from the road, Mana said. It does not appear the man had been buried or that the bones are ancient artifacts, Mana said. The death is regarded as suspicious as a matter of protocol, Mana said.
