Richmond Woman Gunned Down In Car While On Freeway

RICHMOND, Calif. -- A 25-year-old Richmond woman was fatally shot in the passenger seat of a car early Sunday morning as it was driving on Highway 80, according to the Richmond Police Department. The vehicle pulled into a Pinole gas station requesting assistance at around 4:30 a.m. The driver said that someone in a dark sport utility vehicle had fired multiple shots at his car on Interstate Highway 80 near Cutting Boulevard, according to Richmond police. Richmond officers arrived at the Valero gas station at 2401 Appian Way in Pinole, where they found the injured woman. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and no suspects have yet been identified.
