Former Napa Teacher Sentenced In Molestation Case

NAPA, Calif. -- A former Napa teacher accused of molesting
his girlfriend's teenage son is going to jail.
Thirty-five-year-old Josefat Estrada has been sentenced to seven
years and four months in prison after pleading no contest to three
counts of committing sex acts with the teen.
Authorities say the former math teacher at Vintage High School
abused the boy at his girlfriend's Sonoma County home from 2005,
when the boy was 14, until 2007. Estrada was arrested in November
after the teen reported the alleged abuse.
Estrada's plea was part of a deal with prosecutors, who agreed
to dismiss additional molestation charges against him.
His attorney, Jeffrey Hammond, said Estrada was facing a maximum
of nine years and four months behind bars when he was sentenced
last week.
