MILL VALLEY, Calif. -- An 18-year-old man is in the hospital with two broken legs, several abrasions and a concussion after he was hit by a Dodge going about 45 mph near Mill Valley Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. Marin resident Andrew Bickerstaff walked into the Dodge sedan's path around 5 a.m. on the U.S. Highway 101 off-ramp to East Blithedale Avenue in unincorporated Marin County, according to the CHP. The driver of the sedan was San Pablo resident Jose Loaziza Jr., 31, who applied his brakes and swerved but could not stop in time. Bickerstaff hit the car's front windshield, flipped over the top, landed on the rear window and then fell to the ground, CHP Officer Mary Ziegenbein. He is at Marin General Hospital and is expected to survive. Ziegenbein said he was coherent but barely remembers the collision.
