Police Release Suspect Info In Castro Murder

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- San Francisco police on Friday announced they are seeking the public's help in locating a person of interest in a homicide this week in the Castro neighborhood. Authorities responded to an anonymous report of a murder and located Robert "Bobby" Christopher inside the apartment at 98 Castro St. around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, San Francisco police Sgt. Wilfred Williams said. Christopher was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the 30th homicide victim in the city this year. David Wehrer, 26, is believed to have been seen with Christopher and visited his house recently, police said. Download Suspect Info PDF Wehrer, who is a person of interest in the homicide, is also a suspect in an attempted bank robbery and carjacking Tuesday afternoon in the West Portal neighborhood. Police Sgt. Lyn Tomioka said the suspect entered the Bank of America in the 200 block of West Portal Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. and unsuccessfully attempted to rob the bank. He then allegedly carjacked a red 2006 Honda Accord before fleeing the area, Tomioka said, adding that the suspect brandished a gun during the carjacking. Wehrer should be considered armed and dangerous.
