RICHMOND, Calif. -- A big-rig trailer that overturned onto a car at the midspan of the Richmond-San Rafael Bride Tuesday afternoon is causing major traffic delays, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident was reported just before 3 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the bridge, CHP Officer John Short said. Three people in the car suffered minor injuries and the driver of the big-rig was not injured, according to Short. The No. 1 and 2 eastbound lanes of the bridge are closed while the big-rig is removed, and traffic is reportedly backed up to eastbound U.S. Highway 101, Short said. Big-rigs will not be allowed on the bridge for the rest of the afternoon due to high winds.
