SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A fourth suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting of a 12-year-old boy and the stabbing of his 13-year-old friend while they were trick-or-treating Halloween night in San Jose, police said. Eduardo Cristobal, an 18-year-old Milpitas resident, was taken into custody Wednesday. Three juveniles, a 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys, were arrested earlier this week. Police are not releasing the names of the juveniles. Police said the attacks were gang-related, although the victims are not affiliated with a gang. The boys were attacked shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday while they were trick-or-treating in the 2000 block of Story Road, police said. The 12-year-old boy who was shot remains in critical condition, and his friend who was stabbed is recovering, according to police.
