Oakland Police Chase Ends In Parolee Arrest

OAKLAND, Calif. -- A chase through the streets of Oakland Monday night ended with the driver cornered and taken into custody.Police said they tried to pull over a parolee who was driving his wife's white sedan on Golf Links Road but he took off.The chase came to an end when the driver ran into a roadblock that forced him to drive up onto the sidewalk near the intersection of 73rd and Garfield Avenues.Police cut off his escape route, drew their weapons and waited for several minutes before the man climbed out of the car window and surrendered.KTVU was told the man's wife had reported that her husband and her car were missing.
