A chain reaction crash left two vehicles overturned and forced transit officials to shut down several lanes for nearly an hour on the picturesque Golden Gate Bridge Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said they received a call reporting the crash around 11:24 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the bridge that connects San Francisco with Marin County.

Two vehicles were flipped onto their sides by the force of the impact of the head-on crash. There were injuries, but police said, they did not appear to be life-threatening.

All lanes on the bridge were reopened at 12:15 p.m.
