BRENTWOOD -- A 14-year-old boy who was hit by a big-rig in Brentwood on Monday is expected to survive his injuries, Brentwood police Lt. Tom Hansen said Wednesday. "He's a lucky little kid," Hansen said. So far it appears that the teen ran out in front of the big-rig on Brentwood Boulevard, also known as state Highway 4, at Central Boulevard at about 5:30 p.m., Hansen said. The driver wasn't able to stop in time and struck the boy, Hansen said. He remained at the scene and police don't believe he was at fault in the accident. "At this point it doesn't appear that there will be any charges filed against him," Hansen said. The boy was flown by helicopter to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment of serious injuries.
