BAY POINT, Calif. -- Police are searching Friday for a second teen suspect involved in a Thursday afternoon shooting and robbery of a man on the Delta de Anza Regional Trail in the unincorporated Bay Point area of Contra Costa County. East Bay Regional Park police Sgt. Tyrone Davis said two teenagers, ages 16 and 17, shot and robbed a young man on the trail between Bailey Road and Clearland Drive at about 2:45 p.m. The younger suspect was arrested shortly after the incident. The suspects approached the victim, who is in his early 20s, and demanded property, Davis said. When he refused, the suspects allegedly shot the man in his lower body. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for an injury that is not life threatening. The 16-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery. Davis said the second juvenile has been identified but police are withholding his name. He said it does not appear the victims knew the suspect.
