Vandals Dislodge Headstones At Jewish Cemetery

Police are investigating the vandalism of more than a dozen gravesites at a Jewish cemetery in Colma early the morning of Dec. 24.

Thirteen headstones and at least six vases had been dislodged from their bases at the Eternal Home Cemetery at 1501 El Camino Real, police said. One of the vases was damaged.

All of the gravestones and vases have since been remounted in their original positions, except for the damaged vase, police said.

The incident appears to be a random act of vandalism and isn't believed to have been a hate crime, police said.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call the Colma Police Department at (650) 997-8321.
