Driver Arrested For DUI After Fatal Car Crash

A 25-year-old Campbell man died Saturday morning in a crash in San Jose and the driver of the Ford he was traveling in was arrested for felony DUI, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 1:50 a.m., a 2001 Ford was traveling southbound on Interstate Highway 280 from the Meridian Avenue northbound transition.

The driver of the Ford, 29-year-old San Jose resident Sean Betti, lost control of the vehicle, which then hit a dirt embankment, the CHP said. The Ford flipped and the Campbell man was ejected.

The passenger, who has not been identified, was transported to Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m.

Another passenger in the Ford, Edward Williams III, a 25-year-old Gilroy man, was not injured, according to the CHP.

Betti was arrested for felony driving under the influence of alcohol.
