Mountain Lion Seen In Residential Neighborhood

A mountain lion was spotted in a Redwood City residential area Sunday morning, according to the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.

The animal was seen at about 10:50 a.m. traveling uphill from a creek area in the 1750 block of Cordilleras Road, sheriff's official said.

Deputies responded and found tracks but were unable to locate the cat.

Residents are advised not to approach mountain lions, and try to appear large and make noise if one is nearby. The cats are most active at dawn, dusk and at night.
