Family says hospital is to blame for teen's death

- A 15-year-old girl from Stockton has passed away after he doctor reportedly sent her away from the hospital.

Yunique Morris died last Thursday and her family says the staff's negligence at San Joaquin General Hospital could be to blame.

Her family says that she was a healthy young woman and cheerleader at her high school.

Yunique's family says that she had been complaining of chest pains two weeks ago. When she saw her doctor at the hospital, he placed her on bed rest and gave her pain medication and antibiotics.

Yunique's family took her back to the doctor when her pain got worse, and she was short of breath after doing day-to-day activities. Her doctor reportedly said her illness was not serious and sent her back home.

Last Thursday, Yunique's mother took her to the hospital again after she told her that she had been throwing up.

Her older brother, Monte, rushed her to the hospital.

Yunique died just hours later after doctors found blood clots in her chest.

The family says they will know more about how Yunique died in a couple of weeks, when her autopsy is released from UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.

According to FOX40 in Stockton, the hospital said they cannot comment due to patient confidentiality.

The family is raising money for Yunique's funeral costs. You can find out more here
