4.0 earthquake shakes Mendocino County

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck Redwood Valley in Mendocino County at 4:10 p.m. Friday according to the USGS.

The already rattled Redwood Valley area is also dealing with a raging wildfire that has scorched more than 50 square miles. 

As of Friday morning, eight lives had been lost and more than 34,000 acres had burned. Containment was at 10 percent.
