Suspected Bank Robber Arrested Playing Poker

EMERYVILLE -- A federal fugitive, suspected of eight bank robberies in Northern California, has been arrested in a card room by the Emeryville Police Department, in conjunction with Deputy U.S. Marshals. Tommy Joe Neal, previously convicted of armed bank robbery, was arrested at the Oaks Card Club at 4097 San Pablo Ave. in Emeryville, reports Deputy Zareen Iqbal. Neal had been sought on a supervised-release violation, and is also currently a suspect in eight Northern California bank robberies, according to Iqbal. U.S. Marshals were able to locate Neal quickly based on information gathered in their investigation, and according to Iqbal, he was arrested without incident.
