Podcast: What Is It?

The latest buzz word in the Internet world is "podcast," and KTVU is proud to be on the forefront of this emerging technology.

In short, podcasts are MP3 audio programs that are available to be downloaded onto your computer and transferred to an iPod or any portable media device that supports MP3s. It can also be played right on your computer.

How Do I Get It?

Getting the daily podcast is surprisingly easy -- and free! Several free programs are available online that will allow you to download the daily MP3 feeds.

Here's a list of some popular programs:

• iPodder (recommended)
• iPodderX (mac users only)
• jpodder

After you've downloaded a program, you'll be asked to enter a URL to subscribe to the podcast feed. In order to subscribe to an individual KTVU Podcast, enter the following URL:

After the download is complete, the individual podcasts will appear on your computer as MP3 files. You can listen directly on your computer or load them onto your portable music player!
