SAN JOSE -- A Frontier Airlines passenger was taken into custody Wednesday on the tarmac at Mineta San Jose International Airport after passengers noticed he had a notebook with the words "suicide bomber" written on the front, authorities said.

The man was taken from Frontier Flight 169 at about 10 a.m. after it taxied to a halt short of the gate. He was questioned by the FBI and San Jose police, who were in charge of the investigation, and released, authorities said.

"Based on our investigation, along with the FBI, (we) determined that there were no threats or any criminal charges," San Jose Police Department spokesowman Gina Tepoorten said.

A passenger told flight attendants the man was acting suspiciously and talking about bombs, said FBI spokeswoman Patty Hansen, adding that he was clutching a backpack.

"It seemed like he was under the influence but that's not been determined at this point," Hansen said.

The plane, which was full with 132 passengers and a crew of five, was searched and nothing suspicious was found, said Joe Hodas, a spokesman for Denver-based Frontier.

The flight arrived from Denver. San Jose was the final destination.
