Albany police search for attempted abduction suspect

- Albany Police are searching for a man who they say tried to abduct a teenage girl over the weekend.

The teen was walking along Neilson Street near Sonoma Avenue just after 11 p.m. Saturday when the attempted abduction occurred.

Albany Police say a man in a parked pickup truck got out and tried to get the girl into the truck.

But she fought back and struggled with the man. Neighbors heard the commotion and called police.

The man eventually drove off.

Police say the truck they're looking for is white, and in good condition, with some items in the bed.

At the time of the attempted kidnapping, there was a second person inside the truck.

Police say the suspect is Hispanic, in his early 40's, about 5' 8", with dark hair and a short stubble beard.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Albany Police.
