Northbound lanes of I-680 in Milpitas reopen after being blocked during police activity

California Highway Patrol says all northbound lanes of Interstate 680 at California Highway 237 west in Milpitas have reopened.

CHP tweeted at 9:37 p.m. that the situation at Montague was resolved and the lanes were open after being blocked for about five hours on Monday.  

At around 4:45 p.m. CHP reported police activity at that location and issued a severe traffic alert. 

KTVU learned a a suicidal subject was threatening to jump onto or from the roadway. That person came down on their own accord, according to officials. 

At 9:41 p.m. Milpitas Police said Landess Avenue was about to reopen momentarily.
