A man who was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly shooting his stepfather and half-brother has been identified by Antioch police as 31-year-old Dominic Griffin.

According to Antioch police, Griffin was arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and firearm enhancement on Tuesday after he remained on the scene after the shooting.

Police said that Griffin allegedly shot and killed his stepfather, Michael Goodwin Jr., during an argument at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Lawton Street around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. Goodwin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prior to the shooting, callers reported to police that Griffin, Goodwin and the unidentified half-brother were arguing and one man - allegedly Griffin - was pointing a gun at another man.

Several other callers then contacted police to report shots had been fired and one person was on the ground and another was running away from the area of the shooting.

The half-brother was later found at a near-by convenience store with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital where police said as of Tuesday evening that he was in critical but stable condition.

The weapon Griffin allegedly used - a pistol - was recovered from the scene.
