The wait is over.

April the giraffe at the Animal Adventure Park in New York state gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday.

The hooves of her baby calf began sticking out from her backside early Saturday morning.

This is April's four calf.

On average, it takes between 30 minutes to 2 hours for a baby giraffe to come out, when its hooves show.

The calf has been lying on the ground since its birth.

There is no word yet on the gender of the giraffe.

April's calf is expected to be 6-feet tall and weigh about 150 pounds.

April was pregnant for 16-months, and her pregnancy captured worldwide interest.
