Ashes of oceanographer sprinkled on turtle's back

The ashes of an oceanographer known for his work to preserve Texas beaches were sprinkled onto the back of a sea turtle.

Tony Amos died of complications from prostate cancer on September 4 at 80-year-old.

The sea turtle, named Picasso, was nursed back to health at the rehabilitation center Amos founded.

The turtle was released back into the Gulf of Mexico, with the ashes of Amos on his back.

Amos' wife, Lynn; son, Michael; and other relatives sprinkled the ashes and watched it crawl its way back into the ocean.
