KTVU - Residents of Solano County were forced to leave their homes because of the Atlas Fire jumping over county lines late Tuesday night.
The Sheriff's Office put these neighborhoods under mandatory evacuation: Gordon Valley, Williams, Lambert and Clayton roads.
The fire had crested the ridge at Twin Sisters Road, north of Green Valley and northwest of Fairfield.
Early Wednesday, crews were battling fires on Suisun Valley Road near Fairfield, although that city was not under mandatory evacuation.
School will be cancelled Wednesday for all students in Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District due to concerns about air quality and safety, Superintendent Kris Corey announced. Solano Community College was also closed for Wednesday.
