Bay Area air quality expected to improve today, Monday

Air quality in many parts of the Bay Area is expected to improve, with most areas expected to go from the "moderate" reading of the past few days to a "good" reading starting today, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District said Saturday.

The only exceptions are the "Coast and Central Bay" zone (San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo and the western edge of Contra Costa County) and the "northern zone", primarily made up of communities in Sonoma and Solano counties. In both of those zones, air quality is expected to remain in the "moderate" category today.

The entire Bay Area is expected to have "good" air quality by Monday, the air quality district said.
