Beast mode and Wolverine met on the football field in Oakland Saturday.

Running back Marshawn Lynch, who recently retired from the Seattle Seahawks, was going through football drills with a group of young people at Oakland Technical High School.

He was joined by Hollywood and Broadway star, Hugh Jackman, and actor, Taron Egerton.

Jackman and Egerton are promoting their new film, Eddie the Eagle, about British skier, Eddie "The Eagle"

Edwards, who in 1988, became the first Brit to participate in the ski jumping competition at the Olympics.

Lynch starred at Oakland Tech, before going to Cal, and becoming a NFL all-pro and Super Bowl champion.

Jackman has appeared in such hit movies, as the X-Men franchise, the Wolverine franchise, Chappie, and Les Misérables.

The kids learned about football drills and fundamentals.

They also had a chance to toss around a football with Jackman.

Some of the kids go to Oakland Tech, while other students are part of the non-profit Fam 1st Foundation.

Afterwards, they were treated to a showing of Eddie the Eagle, which opens nationwide on February 26.

The film, which is distributed by 20th Century Fox, premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival.
