A man who cut his hand on glass and was bleeding profusely walked into the Ashby BART Station on Wednesday morning, closing the station for two hours as agents cleaned up the mess.

According to BART police Lt. Randy Gregson, the bleeding man entered the station around 4:50 a.m. Gregson said it is not known where the man suffered his injuries, but due to the amount of blood on the platform, the station was closed for passenger safety.

At 7 a.m., KTVU cameras spotted police, yellow tape and what appeared to be would-be riders checking their phones.

The station reopened at 7:20 a.m. There was no immediate word on how the man cut himself.
