SFPD: tour bus hits and kills pedestrian

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a tour bus Saturday afternoon in San Francisco, police said.

The crash happened at around 1 p.m. at Divisadero and Post Streets.

The victim was a man in his 70s, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Witnesses said he was hit and then caught underneath the open double-decker Hop-On, Hop-Off tour bus.

This was the latest crash involving a tourist vehicle in San Francisco.

Last November, 20 people were injured, when a City Sightseeing double-decker bus crashed at Union Square.

In 2014, a Classic Cable Car Charters vehicle hit and killed a San Francisco city employee outside City Hall.
