A calf had to be rescued after it fell 16 feet down a well in Two Rock, in unincorporated Sonoma County.

The 300 pound calf was found submerged in three to four feet of water when firefighters arrived at the property on Fallon Road around 4:00 p.m. Monday. It's estimated that the calf had been trapped at the bottom of the well since 12:00 p.m.

According to Captain Lou Stoerzinger with the Two Rock Fire Department, the calf was tired and cold but relatively calm during the rescue.

Firefighters used a rope and harness to pull the calf to safety where it was reunited with its mother who was anxiously waiting nearby.
