Car fire reported in Rodeo, days after alleged Contra Costa County firebug arrested

Three days after a suspect was arrested following a rash of car fires in Contra Costa County, another car fire was reported early Tuesday morning in Rodeo.
The California Highway Patrol said firefighters quickly put the flames out and the car was towed away from the waterfront near Railroad Avenue and Third Street about 1:30 a.m.
Investigators say there is no indication that this incident is connected to the recent series of suspicious car fires set earlier in the county; at least seven fires that damaged vehicles were reported in cities including Martinez, Bay Point, Lafayette and Walnut Creek. A 36-year-old man was arrested on Saturday in Benicia connected to those fires. His name has not yet been released.
