Caught on tape: San Pablo armed robber points gun, fires shots in liquor store, police ask for help

The San Pablo Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating an armed robbery suspect who fired two rounds inside Handy’s Liquor store Thursday Nov. 9 around 8:21 p.m., the department announced on their Facebook page.

The suspect entered the store located at 14301 San Pablo Avenue and pointed a gun at store clerks as he walked behind the counter. After struggling to open the register, he fired two shots at it. It didn’t open. The suspect then ripped the cash drawer out of the register and left the store on foot. 

The suspect is described as a black male adult, approximately 40-50 years old, between 6’ 0” and 6’ 2” and between 230 and 250 pounds. 

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt (with white drawstrings), blue jeans and brown work boots.
