Chicago zoo animals getting into the Halloween spirit

Animals at the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago are getting into the Halloween spirit with the help of zoo employees.

The staff carved pumpkins, filled them with additional food items, and will be dishing them out as treats over the next two weekends for their furry friends. From sloth bears and fruit bats, to carpet pythons and hungry hippos, these animals are not getting left out of the festivities.

And workers at the zoo say the pumpkins are not only festive, but they physically and mentally help the animals. The actions are part of the zoo’s “Boo! At the zoo” Halloween celebrations.
