HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KTVU) - California Highway Patrol officials say a highway patrol vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian in Half Moon Bay.
The incident happened around 8:30 Saturday night along Highway 1, near Sam's Chowder House, when an officer hit and killed a 74-year-old man from Burlingame.
Investigators says the CHP officer was driving a 2016 Ford vehicle and was heading northbound on Highway 1, when he struck the pedestrian.
The CHP officer involved in the crash is said to be shaken about what happened, but he is not physically hurt.
We do not know what the victim was doing in the area.
