The holiday spirit has arrived in Oakland’s Jack London Square as a 55-foot “Mount Shasta Fir” was lit up with five-thousand sparkling lights Friday night.
"It's really fun and makes you feel like a kid," said Julissa Mejia, a visitor from Pamona. "Yeah, it's on, the tree. It's Christmas time!"
And loads of folks around the country are viewing similar spectacles. From the famous Rockefeller Center tree to the 79-foot “Engelmann Spruce” outside the U.S. Capital Building, the festivities are underway.
