Santa Rosa police arrested a suspect today in two Santa Rosa bank robberies that occurred in September, a police sergeant said.

Jason Richard Fuesz, 48, of Santa Rosa, is suspected of robbing the Chase Bank at 2700 Yulupa Ave. on Sept. 13 and the Chase Bank at 1301 Guerneville Road on Sept. 16, Sgt. Josh Ludtke said.

The suspect in the robberies wore a black hooded sweatshirt with white embroidery on a breast pocket and a black bandana over his face, was armed with a black handgun and carried a paper bag with handles, Ludtke said.

Police developed leads on the identity of the suspect who was then identified by witnesses.

Detectives followed Fuesz in his vehicle Monday and was taken into custody without incident.

Fuesz has convictions for bank robbery in 1995 and 2009, Ludtke said.

Fuesz was booked in the Sonoma County Jail on two counts of robbery and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Sonoma County Superior Court.
