DANVILLE, Calif. (KTVU) - A familiar face to shoppers at the Danville Costco has passed away.
Arlie Smith greeted countless customers at the store for 24 years. He died Tuesday, after a battle with cancer.
KTVU profiled Smith back in 2015 for his fundraising campaign for his favorite charity, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
He raised more than $230,000 for the hospital, and gave $10,000 of his own.
Smith was 48-years-old and is survived by his wife, Shari Smith.
