Driver flees scene of crash, leaving injured passenger behind

OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a crash, leaving an injured passenger behind.

Officers responded to the scene of an overturned vehicle with a passenger trapped inside in the 2300 block of Foothill Boulevard at around 5:38 a.m. Monday.

Police say the car struck some power poles and the driver fled the scene.

Oakland Firefighters were able to free the trapped passenger, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Police are still looking for the driver.
