Crucible Benefit Bids Farewell To Founder

The East Bay's one-of-a-kind educational center for innovative works of fire and light art hosts a special benefit this weekend when The Crucible pays tribute to founder Michael Sturtz as he prepares to depart from the center's staff with their 12th anniversary celebration Crucible Revival.

A show-stopping "greatest hits" of past performances, Crucible Revival offers up some of the centers most beloved and spectacular moments as presented in past installations and stage shows. Hosted by Master of Ceremonies and frequent Crucible collaborator Mark Growden, the stunning show features a fast paced, jaw dropping line-up of music, dance, aerial, fire and much more. Attendees can expect reprisals of unforgettable moments from Crucible stage shows, stunning surprises and plenty of fire from a veritable Who's Who of Bay Area fire arts specialists.

Live entertainment also features musical acts Eric McFadden (Sat/15 only), cello and vocal duo Loop!Station, vocalist Marisa Lenhardt (Fri/14 only) and a host of dancers, aerialists and contortionists including Flavor Group with Iron Monkey, Kristina Nekyia, Dan Cantrell, Fleeky Flanco, Jill Parker and the Foxglove Sweethearts, Aziz Abbatiello, Scarlett + Axelrod, Copper Lantern Fire Theater and much more.
