Danville Fine Arts Faire

The Danville Fine Arts Faire celebrates its 24th anniversary this year, attracting over 50,000 people every year to beautiful Hartz Avenue in downtown Danville-a city 40 miles east of San Francisco that's a mix of beautiful residences from the Gold Rush days along with magnificent homes of the future. Quaint Hartz Avenue is a natural for unique specialty shops and gourmet dining. During June, the weather is usually very warm, but the tree-lined street offers plenty of shady rest areas.

A key ingredient to the success of the festival is the high quality of art and crafts being displayed by over 200 artisans. This festival has approximately 60% fine art and 40% contemporary and traditional crafts. For a quick overview, check out this video.

This year's Italian Street Painters: Christine Pasadis, Cheryl and Wayne Renshaw, Hien Nguyen and Cece Linayao will create their 12 x 12 ft. food-themed masterpieces on Prospect Street's asphalt canvas while only using chalk as their medium. Watch this year's artists-in-action beginning early Saturday morning, then come back to see the end result late Sunday afternoon. See festival map for locations & be sure to bring a camera.

New this year will be visiting metal sculptors, Phil & Chad Glashoff, creating during festival hours "Wheels in Motion: an assemblage of bicycle parts & other recyled metal materials. Phil & Chad can be seen in their outdoor studio between Hartz Way & School Street.

Entertainment again this year will be presented by three street corner musicians stationed throughout the festival along Hartz Avenue. A wide variety of music to suit your fancy. Also newsthis year, the festival will host theĀ  2012 Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Father's Day Classic Car Show on Sunday as Prospect StreetĀ  showcases thirty classic cars that will be the envy of every guy strolling the street.

The festival encourages bicycle riders to park their bikes in a designated lot between Hartz Way & School Street. Guarded Bike Parking will be provided for by the San Ramon Valley High School Wolf Foundation. For those wishing to drive, the Town of Danville will be offering unlimited parking in all city-owned parking lots and on all street curbside parking spaces.
