Disney PIXAR's Brave animators visit CAVALIA (L-R) Brave Story Artist Valerie LaPointe, Brave Animators Kevin O'Hara and Jessica Torres, and Brave Story Artist Louis Gonzales, get a backstage visit with CAVALIA stars Fairland Ferguson and the stallion Miracle, currently playing in San Jose. Many of the Pixar crew had visited the equine spectacular for inspiration during its last San Francisco engagement, back when they were creating the animated film.

A spectacular multi-media extravaganza created by Normand Latourelle (one of the founders of Quebec's famed Cirque du Soleil), Cavalia returns to the Bay Area for the first time since its 2010 run of performances in San Francisco at the AT&T parking lot. The latest version of the breathtaking production will dazzle audiences with a performing troupe that includes 47 magnificent horses, and a troupe of 38 riders, aerialists, acrobats, dancers and musicians from all over the world.

In Cavalia, horses cavort with death-defying aerialists and entertainers in front of a constantly changing background projected on a 200-foot-wide screen, transporting the spectators to dream-like virtual settings inside the massive 110-foot high Cavalia tent raised on the 101 Tech campus site near where Hwy 101 and 87 East intersect, across Hwy 101 from the San Jose Airport. A show unlike any other created to date, Cavalia celebrates the relationship between humans and horses, and reinvents equestrian arts, propelling them into the 21st century.

Unlike traditional horse shows in the round, Cavalia’s audience faces a single 160-foot-wide stage which allows the horses space to gallop at full speed, at times running completely free, unfettered by bridles or halters. For more information on the show (which recently extended its run to August 26) and how to buy tickets, please visit the official Cavalia website.
