Experience Fireworks By The Bay

SAN FRANCISCO —

San Francisco celebrates the Fourth of July with its annual all-day party at the City's famed waterfront. Families from all over the Bay Area descend on Fisherman's Wharf and Aquatic Park with blankets, picnic baskets and lawn chairs for optimum firework viewing.

Entertainment will be provided by three local favorites playing extended sets at the Pier 39 Entrance Plaza stage. From 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. attendees enjoy the cool sounds of beach pop band Ruby Summer. From 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the crowd will rock out with Club 90 playing hits from the 90's followed by a trip to an earlier decade with popular '80s cover band Tainted Love from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fireworks follow soon afterward. You can learn more details about the event at the official Pier 39 Web site. Parking is likely to be tight, so you might want to consider taking public transportation to the area.
