Dean & Britta

Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips first worked together when the bass-playing Phillips joined Wareham's second successful band Luna in 2001 (he was also a member of the late lamented dream-pop trio Galaxie 500). While Luna split up in 2005, the husband and wife team has continued to produce new recordings that range from their collection of covers L'Aventura, their own original material and contributing to the soundtracks to several movies.

While in 2010 Wareham embarked on a celebrated tour revisting Galaxie 500 material for the first time since that celebrated band dissolved in an acrimonious split back in 1991, he and his wife have revived their project commissioned by the Andy Warhol Museum to score a series of screen tests the pop-art giant shot during the '60s. The silent-film portraits paired with Dean and Britta's original music was released on the 13 Most Beautiful...Songs for Andy Warhol's Screen Tests DVD in 2009.
