With a volatile mix of punk energy, metal-influenced riffs and sophomoric humor, Canadian pop-punkers Sum 41 became an MTV favorite ever since exploding onto the scene with the hit song and video "Fat Lip" back in 2001. Picking up where Southern California jokers Blink-182 left off, Sum 41 found its niche making rowdy, hook-laden tunes for teenaged kids. The band's followed up on its hugely successful debut with Does This Look Infected?

The group's later efforts would tone down the humor and ratchets up the substance; The title song to their third album Chuck was named after a U.N. aid worker who helped the band escape with their lives when things turned ugly in Congo while filming a documentary for charity. The sobering experience led to some of the band's most mature work yet didn't dampen their penchant for mixing hardcore and metal riffs.

Though the outfit hasn't issued any new material since its fifth album Screaming Bloody Murder in 2011, Sum 41 comes to San Francisco on a tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of their biggest album Does This Look Infected? The group will play the effort in its entirety along with a selection of hits and fan favorites from throughout their career. Hunter Valentine and iamdynamite also appear.
