The creation of Raleigh, NC-based studio musician Stuart Daniel Baker, mythic purveyor of undead psychobilly Unknown Hinson has been plying his trade for well over a decade, earning a cadre of high-profile fans like former Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Ed King, actor/musician Billy Bob Thorton, Simpsons creator Matt Groening and country/metal outlaw Hank Williams III. Baker first came up with the unapologetically redneck character for a Charlotte-area public access show called The Wild Wild South, later hosting his own eponymous show featuring Hinson's gun-toting, liquor swilling antics and performances of his politically incorrect tunes.

While arguably more famous for providing the voice of Early Cuyler, the like-minded hillbilly patriach on the popular Adult Swim animated show Squidbillies, Baker has released a number of albums as Unknown Hinson that have fueled his growing popularity as a recording and touring acts. Having headlined a Sunday night show at the Independent in San Francisco, Hinson delivers his smoking guitar and dark, perverse country and western parodies when he plays two more rare West Coast shows in the greater Bay Area this week.
