New York-based stand-up talent Dave Attell first started appearing on Comedy Central's popular Daily Show back in 1999, holding forth in a regular segment entitled "The Ugly American." The hangdog comedian's deadpan delivery and cynical material led the network to offer him his own show, Insomniac, which started broadcasting in 2001.

Spotlighting Attell's hard-drinking and hilariously cynical travelogues, the show would typically start out with the comedian doing his routine in a club at a particular city before heading out to visit various bars and landmarks while encountering some truly bizarre denizens of the night as the hour gets later and later.

Though the series ended its successful three-season run in 2003, Attell furthered the concept with a number of one-hour international specials filmed in Tokyo, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Dublin and London. Attell has remained busy since then with his nearly nonstop touring and regular appearances on Comedy Central shows including Tosh.O and others. Experience his biting, world-weary wit at Cobb's Comedy Club for two nights through Saturday.
