The Velveteen Rabbit

A holiday tradition in San Francisco for a quarter of a century, The Velveteen Rabbit directed and choreographed by ODC's KT Nelson comes to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts through Dec. 9.

Based on the classic English children's tale by Margery Williams, the story centers around a lovable stuffed velveteen rabbit that comes to life through the love of a little boy. In The Velveteen Rabbit, the ten-foot-tall Nana oversees the toys that share the nursery with the rabbit: a skin-horse, toy soldiers, a crocodile, rag dolls, and -- in the garden -- a pack of real rabbits. ODC/San Francisco's adaptation includes dancing, narration and music in this enduring tale about love, loyalty and growing old.

Brimming with wit, festive costumes, madcap characters and the perfect amount of holiday cheer, the 25th anniversary ODC show is suitable for children age four and up, including the child in every adult. For more ticket and showtime information, please visit the ODC website.
