FBI, San Ramon police investigate online threat to high school

There will be a bigger police presence Thursday at California High School in San Ramon after an anonymous threat was posted online and which the FBI is now investigating.

On Wednesday, San Ramon police and the FBI received a tip of an anonymous online post threatening the school. Authorities don’t have a suspect, but the FBI said agents traced the posting’s IP address to Europe. So far, law enforcement hasn't been able to determine if the threat is credible. The threat was supposed to be carried out on Thursday.

San Ramon Valley School District spokeswoman Elizabeth Graswich said if it is a  credible threat, the community will be notified right away. She's thankful that students came forward to alert officials.

Students appeared as usual to school, though.  Olivia Abal noted how many police were on campus. "I know most people are coming to school anyway."
