Female reports assault on Stanford main campus

- Authorities are investigating after a female reported being sexual assaulted on the Stanford campus overnight Sunday.

According to The Stanford University Department of Public Safety (DPS) the female reported force was used during the assault. 

Authorities believe the assault occurred between Sunday evening and Monday morning.

DPS said they were notified of the reported assault by Stanford Hospital, a legal requirement. They said the victim wishes to remain anonymous and has provided no statement. 

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Stanford University Department of Public Safety at 650-329-2413.

At this point, additional details on this case have not been released. 

Earlier this month, former Stanford University swimmer Brock Turner, convicted of sexual assaulting a female student in 2016, lost his appeal in the sexual assault case.
